Snow

Today in AC we have read book Snow by Uri Shulevitz with kids.It is easy book to read aloud.
No one thinks one or two snowflakes will amount to anything. Not the man with the hat or the lady with the umbrella. Not even the television or the radio forecasters. But one boy and his dog have faith that the snow will amount to something spectacular, and when flakes start to swirl down on the city, they are also the only ones who know how to truly enjoy it.
 Students made new words.

Book The Mitten by JIm Aylesworth

Yesterday we have read the book The mitten. It was very interesting book. When a little boy loses a mitten in the snow, a passing squirrel finds it's the perfect place to warm his icy toes. So he sqe-e-e-e-zes inside. But he's not the only animal with that idea. There was a fox, bear and mouse.

We have found two copy of book and i divided the class into two team boys and girls. They read  in turn and translated and described the pictures.
Students loved the book and an ipatiently waited to read what happened in next page.
They found new words to learn. Then each students talked what activities they like to do in winter time. They learned the word mitten and now they know how it looks like.

Animals should definitely not wear clothing

On Oct 22 we 22 kids have read a book in AC by Judy Barret

It was very interesting reading. I like how kids loved this book. They learned many new adjective.

This book introduces the skill of making inferences by using the clever relationship between text and illustrations. On every page, an illustration completes an idea that is only partly explained by the text. For example, on the first page, the text says that wearing clothing "would be disastrous for a porcupine." The picture on the facing page shows a porcupine wearing something that looks like tight-fitting pajamas or a dress. The poor porcupine's quills are poking through the garment, disastrously shredding it. Although the text doesn't say so, the inference is that the porcupine's quills would poke through the clothing and ruin the clothes – as illustrated in the text. In other words, the illustrator helps makes the inference for us.
Vocabulary
Make an inference-"read between the lines," guess what the author intends to say
Definitely-for sure, certainly, without doubt
Disastrous-very, very bad
Terribly hot-very, very hot
Manage-get along, to perform in spite of something (I can't manage without you. We can often manage to understand the author's meaning even if the meaning is not told to us directly.)

Here is the website of that book we have read.

I am a leaf book

I Am a Leaf

The book explores the life cycle of a leaf with easy-to-read text and bright, cut-paper illustrations.
Today Sept 17th we had another book to read in our club. First, everyone read a sentence and translated in native language. Honestly say, i liked this book very much. I prepared two good activities one i made board game "Word" i wrote down all new words and students played and made sentences with new words in their turn. Next activity comrehenshion questions was a handout i found in internet http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/I-Am-A-Leaf-ByJean-Marzollo-Comprehension-Questions-FREEBIE-677046 . I put students in pairs and they work together to answer the questions.
I am so happy when students like the book.I  myself feel very  satisfy at the end.
The nameof the book was connected with reality. It is fall already. The weather gets warm and nights cool.I like to take photos of trees how they change colors.I had great time today.

Next Book is And the winner is....

And the Winner Is ... tells the story of a young basketball player and his reactions to both winning a basketball game and losing one. Cool J's message on sportsmanship teaches children to believe in themselves whether they win or lose, a good lesson to follow throughout life.

I choose the book because the message is such a positive one. In this book, rapper/actor LL Cool J stresses the importance of good sportsmanship. The book shows a series of handsome, yet funny cartoon caricatures of LL Cool J being egotistical when winning and being down and depressed when he loses. He then tells the moral; regardless of whether you win or lose, having the right attitude makes you a winner every time. LL Cool J  encouraging kids to never give up.

As school year  has alreadystarted  the whole year  students wil have different kind of contests and competitions in school and out of school.  In this book students will learn a good lesson how is it to be when you win and lose. Of course every student want to win and when they lose they feel very stressed and frustrated and lose motivation and inspiration. I think students should be taught at the begining of school year some strategies  how to behave when you lose and win.
Life is full of competition. By preparing our children to face the realities of winning and losing, we help them build emotional resilience.  We teach them that in the end, it is not the winning and losing that makes us great or small, but it is the manner in which we accept victory and defeat that defines us as people.
Soon is FLEX exams and we wish our students good luck.
“Everyone takes turns to win and lose. It’s alright to lose sometimes. This is all part of the game.”

"Amelia Bedilia

On August 14th for its Reading Club ACQ hosted Zeboniso Murodovaand 14 schoolchildren from different schools for reading
"Amelia Bedilia" book, one from a series of American Children's Books written by Peggy Parish. First for increasing the attention of the participants Zebo conducted a warm up activity and later she introduced the book to the audience. Afterwards she asked to predict about the book by looking at the picture of the cover page. The participants also were provided by handouts of new vocabulary and the idioms and Zebo Murodova conducted an explanation session of the idioms. Afterwards they started to read the book and after reading a small part of the book Zebo asked questions to check their understanding. At the end participants were given assignments to do at home. Everybody enjoyed this activity very much.

On August 20th ACQ hosted 15 schoolchildren and Zeboniso Murodovafor another very interesting Reading session at our AC. Zebo first used some activities to help students to remember the words from previous reading session and later she using handouts introduced the students with the new ACQ Library book by Debra Frasier called "
Miss Alaineus". She first used prediction activity to make students use their English speaking skills, later they also wrote down their ideas on their papers. Afterwards they played "Vocabulary Bee" game where the students had to spell words correctly and say the definitions to each other. After they started to read the story. It was very pleasant session and children loved it very much.

"Even Monsters need Haircuts"

On August 27th ACQ hosted 17 schoolchildren from different Qurghonteppa and Bokhtar schools for a reading session withZeboniso Murodova. This time they chose the book of Mathew McElligott

After they finished reading the whole book the children were asked to write down the new words from the text on the whiteboard. They helped each other on translating the new words. Afterwards to strengthen the new vocabulary and check their understanding Zebo conducted very interesting activity where participants were invited to split the text into three parts and try to express the meaning of each part by drawing and later saying in words. It was very interesting and majority liked this activity very much.

Today Sep 3rd,  ACQ hosted 11 schoolchildren for an interesting reading session conducted by Zeboniso Murodova who chose a book by Daniel Kirk "Library Mouse".
